# Get a Print File from Your Storefront

Request the print file for a personalized design directly from your product page, using your Customix API key and your browser's console.

You can **get a print file from your storefront** without placing an order. It's a quick way to check how a design prints while you set up a product: personalize it on the product page, run one command in your browser, and Customix gives you a link to the print file for that design.

### Step 1: Copy your API key

- In your Shopify admin, open **Apps > Customix Personalizer > Settings**.
- Open the **Integrations** tab.
- Under **API Key**, copy your **Key**.

### Step 2: Personalize the product on your storefront

- Open the product page on your storefront. The option set must be published and **Live** on this product.
- Fill in the options the way a customer would, for example type a name.

### Step 3: Run the command in your browser

- Right-click anywhere on the page and choose **Inspect**, or press **F12** (**Cmd + Option + I** on Mac).
- Open the **Console** tab.
- Paste the command below, replace `YOUR_API_KEY` with the key you copied, and press **Enter**.

## What happens next

Customix creates the print file for the current design and shows a **link to the file** in the **Console**. It can take a few seconds. Click the link to open the file.

- **Invalid API Key**: The key is wrong or was reset. Copy it again from **Settings > Integrations**.
- **The print file is blank**: Your options aren't on a print area yet, so there's nothing to print. See [Set Up Print Areas and Print Files](https://customix.io/help/set-up-print-areas).
- **customixHelper is not defined**: Customix hasn't loaded on this page. Check that the app embed is on and the option set is **Live** on this product.
