Publishing is how an option set reaches your storefront. You build the set once in the 1 Customize step, then in 2 Publish you choose the Shopify products it should appear on. One set can be published to as many products as you like: every product shows the same options, each with its own product photos.

Step 1: Open the Publish step

Open your option set from Option sets and click 2 Publish at the top of the editor. The Products box lets you search for products or click Browse to pick from a list.

Step 2: Choose your products

  • Click Browse, search for a product, and tick it. Tick several products to publish the set to all of them at once.
  • Click Select. The products appear in the list, ready to publish.

Nothing changes on your products until you save.

Step 3: Replace an existing set (if needed)

A product can only use one option set at a time. If a selected product already has one, tick Replace existing sets. The old set is archived, not deleted, so you can bring it back later.

Step 4: Save to publish

Click Save in the bar at the top. Customix publishes the set and shows a summary:

  • Published: The set is now live on that product.
  • Skipped: The product already had another set and Replace existing sets wasn't ticked.
  • Failed: Something went wrong. Try again, or chat with us if it keeps failing.

Manage published products

After publishing, each product appears under Published to. The badge in the top right of the editor (for example On 1 product) shows how many products use the set.

Published to list with the Live toggle, eye icon, Assign previews and trash icon

From each product row you can:

  • Live toggle: Hide the options on that product without removing the set, for example while you fix something. Turn it back on to show them again.
  • Eye icon: Open the product on your storefront.
  • Assign previews: Choose which preview customers see for each variant. See Assign Previews to Product Variants.
  • Trash icon: Remove the set from the product.

Remove a set from a product

Click the trash icon on the product row, then click Remove from this set to confirm. The product stops showing the options right away. Orders that were already placed keep their personalization data, and you can publish the set to the product again at any time.
