The Star map option draws the night sky as it looked on a date the customer chooses, such as a wedding day, a birthday or the night they met. It's a popular gift for posters, framed prints, mugs and tote bags.

To add it, click Add option, choose Star map under Maps & Astronomy, and click Add.

  • Customer can pick a date: Show a date picker on your product page. Untick it to use a fixed date.
  • Label and Help text: The title and guidance shown with the date picker.
  • Default date: The date the map shows before the customer picks one.
  • Date text format: How the date is written when a text option shares this option's Global ID, so the date can also appear as text on the design. Use the tokens MM, DD, YY, YYYY, MMM (Jan) and MMMM (January), and wrap fixed words in brackets, for example `[BORN ON] MMMM DD, YYYY`.
  • Required: Customers must pick a date before they can add the product to cart.

On your product page, customers see a Pick a date field.

Milky way

  • Show milky way: Turn the Milky Way band on or off.
  • Color and Opacity: The color and strength of the Milky Way.
  • Sky color: The background color of the sky.

  • Show constellations: Draw lines between the stars of each constellation.

Graticule

Show graticule adds a grid of coordinate lines over the sky, for a more scientific look.

Transform and Condition

Transform sets the exact size, position and rotation on the canvas. Condition shows or hides the option based on another choice; see Show or Hide Options with Conditions.
