The Text option lets customers type their own text, such as a name, a date or a short message, and see it on the product right away. It's the most common personalization option and the starting point for most option sets.

To add it, click Add option, choose Text under Text, and click Add. The text appears on the canvas, where you can drag it into place and resize it.

  • Default text: The text shown on the preview before the customer types anything.
  • Customer can change text: Untick it to show fixed text that customers can't edit.
  • Label: The title above the field on your product page.
  • Placeholder: A hint shown inside the empty field.
  • Help text: Guidance shown below the field.
  • Required: Customers must fill in the field before they can add the product to cart.
  • Is paragraph: Turns the field into a larger box for longer text.
  • Max characters and Max length: Limit how much customers can type.
Validation settings: numeric, whitespace, text transform and regex
  • Is numeric: Only allow numbers, for example for a year.
  • Trim whitespace: Remove spaces at the start and end of what customers type.
  • Text transform: Show the text as typed (Normal), in Uppercase or in Lowercase.
  • Custom regex: Advanced: only accept text that matches a pattern, for example `^[a-zA-Z0-9]+$` for letters and numbers only.

  • Default font: Pick a font from your library or click the upload icon to add your own.
  • Max font size and Min font size: The range of sizes the text can use as it fits inside its box.
  • Character spacing and Line height: Adjust the spacing between letters and lines.
  • Horizontal and Vertical: Align the text inside its box.
  • Auto multiline: Wrap long text onto several lines instead of shrinking it.
  • Customer can choose font: Let customers pick from a list of fonts you choose.

Colors

  • Color mode: Fill the text with a Solid color, a Pattern or a Gradient.
  • Default value: The text color. Click the field to open the color picker, then type a hex code or pick a color.
  • Customer can choose color: Let customers pick from a list of colors you choose.

Style & effect

  • Shadow color, Blur and Offset: Add a drop shadow behind the text.
  • Stroke width and Stroke color: Add an outline around the letters.
  • Paint first: Choose how the outline sits on the letters (for example Center stroke).
  • Customer can choose stroke: Let customers pick the outline themselves.

Transform

Set the exact Width, Height, X and Y position, Skew, Opacity and Rotation of the text box, or flip it horizontally or vertically. You can also do this by dragging the box on the canvas.
